Print, stitch, and create a textile treasure

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the art of Indian block printing using traditionally carved wooden blocks. Working with vibrant fabrics, you’ll experiment with print and stitch to create a beautiful, tactile notebook cover.

What you’ll do:

Start the day by printing and hand stitching your fabric samples, then transform them into a unique notebook cover using simple construction techniques. In the afternoon, we’ll add machine stitching, decorative tassels, and finishing touches to make your cover truly one-of-a-kind.

Techniques covered:

  • Indian block printing
  • Hand and machine stitching
  • Kantha-inspired embroidery

The workshops run on 22nd November (1-4pm) and 28th November (6:30-9:30pm). All sessions are held at the Yarny Bees workshop in Lichfield. (69 Upper St John Street, WS14 9DT)

Tony has recently moved to Aldridge, and is a respected textile artist and hand embroiderer. He has exhibited his work at several venues and created numerous commissions. Tony’s love of nature, and all it provides is his main inspiration. He finds shape and pattern and incorporates the natural flow for all his artwork. Tony loves to combine paint, print and stitch into his work and enjoys sharing these skills with others.
