Are you looking for things to keep your child happy and occupied during the holidays? Perhaps they are crafty and love learning new things?
Come and join Rosey at one of her fabulous art workshops and use a variety of materials to create some beautiful projects.
Held from 1-3pm on Wednesday 28th October at Yarny Bees, 69 Upper St John Street, Lichfield, WS14 9DT.
In this two hour workshop, children will be guided in making some fun Halloween themed crafts to take home and display! Parents can ‘drop and go’. Recommended for ages 7+. (Contact me if you have a younger child that you think would enjoy the activities – we may be able to accommodate them.)
Lanterns: Children will make a Halloween-themed lantern using a glass jar as the base. We will cover the jar in coloured tissue paper and decorate it. Glow sticks will be provided to make the jar ‘glow’ in the dark. Children will need to be able to cut and stick for this activity- let us know in advance if your child will need help with this. Please be aware that the glass jars will be recycled food jars which will have been thoroughly washed beforehand. However, if your child has a serious food allergy, we recommend that you provide your own jar.
Foam clay models: We will experiment will foam modelling clay to make some cute Halloween figures such as ghosts and pumpkins. Clay modelling tools will be provided. Children can access this activity at their own level and explore their ideas. The clay takes a day or two to completely dry solid, so care will be needed transporting the clay home while it is still soft.
Decorated skull pictures: We will look at inspiration from the Mexican ‘Day of the dead’ celebration (Dia de los Muertos) where skulls are decorated in brightly coloured patterns. Children will use paint pens on black card to create their own colourful designs.
During the workshop, squash and biscuits will be provided. Please let us know in advance if if your child has any allergies. The children will be using materials (such as glue and paint pens) which may get onto clothing and stain. We cannot take responsibility for any stained clothing. Please can your child either wear old clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty, or bring an apron.
