Are you looking for things to keep your child happy and occupied during the holidays? Perhaps they are crafty and love learning new things?
Come and join Rosey at one of her fabulous art workshops and use a variety of materials to create some beautiful projects.
Held on Wednesday 27th May, from 2-4pm at Yarny Bees, 69 Upper St John Street, Lichfield, WS14 9DT.
This “Quirky Birds” themed workshop is suitable for ages 6+. We would suggest that if your child is 7+ you can ‘drop and go’. If you have a 6 year old who would like to come, let us know, you may need to stay and support them. We will accommodate you if we have room in the studio.
A fun and creative 2-hour art and craft workshop, making two different pieces- a painted bird canvas and a decorated bird house.
At the end of the session the children can take their items home to show off what they have created!
Children will be guided in sketching out their bird shape onto canvas (they can use the templates provided or design their own outline if they wish). Then they will be supported in selecting acrylic paints to block in the shapes and add layers of pattern over the top using paint pens. There will be opportunity to use some collage elements- such as selecting patterned papers to add funky feathers to their bird’s head!
Children will also decorate a small wooden bird house with colours and patterns of their choice, using acrylic paints and paint pens. Please note the bird house is for decorative use only (indoors) and is not suitable for being placed outdoors in all weather conditions!
As we will be using acrylic paints, please ensure children wear old clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty (acrylics can stain) or bring a craft apron to protect clothes.
Suitable for children aged 7+. Older children welcome and activities can be adapted so let us know if you have an older child who wants to come.
Squash and biscuits provided, please let us know in advance if your child has any allergies.
